Eight years ago while in the New York City, I had to opportunity to take a workshop on Core Shamism. I must admit I had very little knowledge and had skepticism of what shamanisn is and does. There was this underlying sense that shamanism was similar to medicine people and a bit of a sham.
The weekend became clearer that the 40,000 year old plus shamanism was more that a voodoo approach to healing. It was an art, science and a valid form of calling the helping spirits.
The Shaman goes through an in depth intuition before serving his community. The Shaman’s goal is for the healing of his people through the calling of spirits and animal guides in both the lower and higher worlds.
Something I found very comforting from my teachers. Is that the spirits are here for only compassionate acts, wanting only to help the people and the earth. The shaman and their community call to the healing spirits to be a conduit or “hollow bone” for the miraculous healings. Royally they want to help and guide us. My biggest lesson is to get out of the way and let their healing properties come through me.
CULTIVATING BLISS calls upon the inate emotion in humans to access the place of peace, well being and to share it with others through the use of ceromonies and prayer and other techniques . Peeling the layers of stress that our society has put on us.- Bliss and Shamaism help remove the cultural beliefs keeping us away from our sense of well being. You have to want it and trust the greater powers and be open to accepting the gifts of healing. There is beauty everwhere, let us take time to see and be grateful for it.
I do not consider myself a shaman. However, I have an unequivocal belief that the spirits are in all things. This is truly a blessing and it is all around us!
